Udupi, May 26: The District youth wing of Jama’at-e-Islami Hind staged a
protest in front of the Udupi Taluk office on Friday May 25th with
regard to the recent hike in the petrol prices by the union government.
A
memorandum was submitted to the Union petroleum minister through the
tahsidlar to withdraw the hike and to reduce the prices of petroleum
products.
JIH president Hussain Kodibengre said that while comparing
the prices of petrol in other state, the prices are more in Karnataka,
the price rise in daily commodities is already putting pressure on the
common man and demanded that the hike should be withdrawn.
Mr. Mohammed Marakada, Rahiya Ahmed, Idris Hoode and many others were present during the protest.
