Udupi: (Atharulla Sharief)JIH Raises Voice against Capitalists’ Oppression on Poor

Udupi: Dist Jamat-e-Islami Hind Raises Voice against Capitalists Oppression on Poor(18-12-09)

As a result of capitalist’s oppression on poor, the local resources, products and the fruits of toil of labourers does not reach the ordinary folks. The higher class of people and foreign citizens are gaining the huge chunk of wealth, which pushes the poor to the brink of poverty, owing to the oppression by capitalists, said Atarulla Sharief, chief secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Karnataka and Goa unit.
Atarulla Sharief was speaking to the gathering of dignitaries at Hotel Kediyoor Mahajan Hall here on Saturday December 19. Jamat-e-Islami Hind has been making its attempt nationwide in order to bring this harsh reality to the enlightened and intellectual citizens of our country. Money has become everything owing to which the rightful citizens are in great trouble, he said.

Sharief said that over 17,000 farmers across the country are committing suicide owing to unbearable conditions to manage their livelihood and burdened with exorbitant loans.  The packaged bottled waters by MNCs are sold all over the remote villages and Indian metros, he added.
Atarulla Sharief sarcastically remarked whether the union home minister Chidambaram can safeguard the interest of nation, who himself works as an advocate of Enron, the MNC all set to establish power plant in Maharashtra.  Women are being used widely in TV advertisements across the country to provide glamour quotient and thus lure the buyers. The advertisements disregard morality and cultural values. The officers and politicians become easy target of MNCs for their gains. The opportune time has come to get rid of economic inequalities among the citizens in the country and also out of the clutches of IMF and World Bank, who have been dictating the terms on advancing loans and repayment thereby. The violence will not solve the problem, whereas patriotism and democratic means can only do justice by providing economic equality to all Indians, he emphasized.
The programme was organized by district Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, as part of Abhiyan against capitalists and colonialists. Humanitarian Relief Society state chief secretary Akbar Ali welcomed the gathering and delivered the introductory address. District rally convenor Abdul Rehman Rafiq proposed the vote of thanks.
