Dear Sir,
Sub: Memorandum to bring the justice to recent rape
victim in Manipal
The Girls
Islamic Organization of India (GIO), Udupi Unit condemns the recent gang-rape
of a medical student in Manipal and all such heinous acts of rape and
molestation anywhere.
GIO demands the
authorities to arrest all culprits and also demand speedy justice. We are deeply concerned about the health and
well being of the survivor of this brutal rape. GIO express our solidarity with
her and family. We pray Almighty to shower His blessings on her for a speedy
recovery and a life of dignity and peace.
GIO demands the authorities to arrange the proper
transport facilities for woman especially after hours.
GIO wish to bring the attention of both the government
and the masses towards their respective responsibilities. The government should
ban alcohol and other intoxicating substances, blue films and obscene
literature while the masses should check obesity and revealing clothes.
GIO also demands the authorities to instruct all the
educational institutions to adhere the proper dress code for the students and
staff.
Besides, we urge the Manipal University
and all other educational institutions around the city to make the moral
education mandatory.
